At the most recent membership meeting, we’ve been fielding many questions about local job opportunities, and, coincidentally, we just got word of two great resources from state rep Daniel Burke’s office!
Job Readiness Training
Tuesday, Oct. 24, is the day to hit the Daley College campus, located at 75th & Pulaski, for interview tips, resume reviewing and advice on how to market your skills. It’s FREE! The event starts promptly at 9:30AM, and goes until 1PM – head over to Building 100, which is the Southwest American Job Center.
Employment & Resource Fair
That following Thursday, Oct. 26, visit Vittum Park (5010 W 50th St.) to connect with local employers who are looking to hire warehouse associates, chefs, customer service reps and more. It’s also FREE! You’ll be able to network with employers, submit your resume and get info on additional resources if you are un- or under-employed. Reach out!
Plus: Walgreens will be on hand to provide flu shots, so please bring a valid ID and copies of insurance/prescription drug cards if you’d like to receive a shot.
