While we are regular participants in the monthly 8th Police District CAPS meetings, we encourage you to take part too. For those unfamiliar, the meetings happen on the first Wednesday of the month, at 7:00 PM sharp, at the St. Bruno school, in the St. Joseph room – entry off 49th Street at Harding Avenue through the children’s play lot.
Why We Encourage Your Participation
You’ll see us actively sharing this info across local Facebook groups, because we volunteers get hit with TONS of questions and requests that really should be directed at the beat cops.
Keep in mind, we’re volunteers and residents of the neighborhood, just like you. We’re not cops, and we don’t have the ability to follow up on everything that everyone tells us.
How To Reach Beat Cops
That’s why we need your help. Attend these meetings and share what you know. And, in between meetings, there’s a simple way to reach out to the beat cops.
Simply call 312-747-8724 and you’ll be connected to the 8th District Neighborhood Relations Office.
It’s worth your time to speak to the Sergeant at the CAPS office, or to leave a message, especially with detail follow-up information to a particular situation — they return calls typically within 24 hours. Of course, this is not a substitute for 911. If you see a crime in progress, please call 911 immediately.
We are so thankful for watchful neighbors, as they keep Archer Heights safe! Please continue communicating with us, the beat cops and, most importantly…each other.
