Own a Bungalow? Listen Up!

As a member of the Archer Heights Civic Association, you’ll get a fair share of great opportunities shared with you, as we volunteers work hard to bring you every possible way to protect and enjoy your home, your block, your neighborhood…heck, your entire LIFE in Archer Heights!

Here’s a good one for those of us that own a classic bungalow: the chance to talk about energy upgrades with the folks from the Chicago Bungalow Association. (Bet you didn’t know such a thing existed!)

What is the CBA?

The Chicago Bungalow Association (or CBA) was created 18 years ago by Mayor Richard M. Daley, “to ensure that the 80,000 one and one-half story homes that have been the foundation of family lives and neighborhoods for over 100 years would continue to do so for the next century.” Of course, we at the AHCA just love that sentiment. This organization educates bungalow owners on how to properly upgrade, modernize or simply maintain their homes through seminars, grants and tutorials, all available for free for its members.

What’s the opportunity?

There are so many free programs that this association offers, in order to help eligible homeowners protect their biggest investments: their homes.

If you own a bungalow on one of our beautiful blocks here in Archer Heights, make it a point to stop in and visit next month, when reps from the association will be on hand to talk to you about things like energy upgrades that can improve comfort and lower your bills. No membership is required to participate in this event!

Where & When to Visit

The CBA will be available to chat in person with those of us in the community for two sessions:

Thursday, June 7, 1pm – 7pm

Saturday, June 9, 9am – 12pm

You can visit in person at 5334 W 65th St, 60638, on either of those two days, to learn more about how to make energy upgrades to your home, or to find out more about the CBA.
