More on our upcoming Candidates’ Night

Our next meeting takes place on Wednesday, February 13 at 7:30pm, at the Acero school cafeteria.

Please join us, as the normal order of business will be suspended for our famous Candidates’ Night. In recent history, this is one of the most important general elections in our city. So it’s more important than ever that you’re able to make an informed decision on election day.

No other southwest side civic group has such a forum, and our Candidates’ Night has long been regarded as a “must stop by” for credible candidates running for office.

Only those candidates who filed petitions and remain on the ballot have been invited and will be allowed to speak – no proxies whatsoever. Each candidate will be allotted an equal time to speak, to be determined the night of the meeting. Write-ins and members of fringe groups will not be allowed to pose questions to the candidates.

And now for some big news – this year, the forum will be LIVE STREAMED on our brand-new Facebook page. Be sure to like the page – it is different from our closed group, which is reserved for dues-paying members only.

Finally – what you’ve been waiting for – which candidates are confirmed:

Confirmed mayoral candidates:
Jerry Joyce, Garry McCarthy, Gery Chico, Paul Vallas & John Kozlar

Confirmed 14th ward candidates:
Ed Burke, Jaime Guzmán & Tanya Patiño

Confirmed 22nd ward candidates:
Mike Rodriguez, Lisette Lopez & Richard Juarez

Finally, one last update: Due to a prior commitment, 23rd Ward Alderman Silvana Tabares will not be in attendance at the AHCA Candidates Night. The AHCA regrets any communications misunderstanding that may have occurred.

See you there!
