Election and installation of officers for 2019 took place at our January 9th General Membership Meeting and all incumbent officers agreed to serve for another one-year term. At a time when several of the southwest side civic associations are struggling to get persons to volunteer for officer positions, our civic association is especially thankful that we have a solid team of volunteers to lead our neighborhood group for this year.
We also are grateful that the Honorable Anne M. Burke – Illinois Supreme Court Justice, 1st District – was able to take time from her busy schedule to conduct the installation of officers. It’s been over eight years since Justice Burke performed our installation, only because the Illinois Supreme Court has always been in session at the time of our civic association elections. In the latter part of 2018, Tom Baliga checked the 2019 calendar of sessions for the Illinois Supreme Court and was encouraged that the then next year’s docket would start after our January meeting. Justice Burke was appointed to the Illinois Supreme Court in 2006, and won a retention election in 2018 for a 10 year term.

Congratulations to all and thank you.
