Mark your calendars now for the next general membership meeting on Wednesday, February 14 at 7:30pm. We’ll meet at the Acero Charter School cafeteria (formerly UNO School, located at 47th & Kildare), to host a Candidates Night ahead of the March 20th primary election.
The Candidates Night helps us hold elected officials accountable to the public, and no other southwest side civic association has such a forum. This is a great opportunity to see and hear from people who are running for local offices.
Only candidates for major elective offices, where the incumbent has opposition, have been invited; it makes no sense to invite those running unopposed, as there would be no debate.
We have received five confirmations so far…to find out who’s coming and hear the points of view ahead of casting your vote, make sure you attend the meeting!
